YOUR CHURCH AT RISK

Today the church is held to a higher standard in the eyes of the world and the law.  The church should be the place where the world comes to see things done right!  Luke 12:48 says, ".. . For everyone to whom much is given, of him shall much be required; and of him to whom men entrust much, they will require and demand all the more."  We must face the reality that God also holds us to a higher standard.

Tragic situations involving churches make the news everyday.  Judgements awarded in court cases often cost the church countless thousands of dollars.  Court cases also create situations that pastors and church members find embarrassing and intrusive.

Even if your church is not the target of an expensive lawsuit, your members and visitors expect a safe place for worship.  Parents demand higher standards for safe and nurturing environments in which to place their children.

OUR MINISTRY IS TO HELP PROTECT YOURS

Each year, hundreds of ministries find themselves involved in litigation.  No one ever believes they will be a party to a lawsuit, but the truth is, it happens everyday.  Many people now classify the church as a "deep pocket."  Beautiful buildings, valuable real estate, and large budgets all provide the trappings to make your ministry a prime target.

Is it possible to eliminate all risks in our church ministry?  Sure, stop planning all events, tell the members and visitors to leave, lock the doors and sell the property!  Is that an option? Of course not!  The mission of the church is to reach the world for Christ.  Reaching the world involves reaching out and touching lives, young and old.

It is important to realize that while it is impossible to eliminate all risks associated with ministry, it is definately possible to lessen (or mitigate) those risks.

Church Risk Management, Inc. was founded in 1995 to help churches limit their risks in ministry.  We invite you to search our entire website and gain an understanding of what our ministry has to offer.  Feel free to contact us at any time.

May God bless you and protect you as you serve Him.

In His Service,

David Koon, Executive Director

I wanted to let you know what a valuable resource "Church RiskManagement Journal" has been to our church. Not only does the Journal help me to improve risk management in our church by giving practical methods to minimize potential problems, it also validates steps I have already taken to keep our church a viable ministry.

I have been a subscriber for over seven years and can certainly recommend the Church Risk Management Journal to any pastor, church administrator or children’s pastor. While our church runs approximately 3,500 in attendance each week, I believe that churches of every size would benefit from information contained in the Journal.

Sincerely,

Bob Wild, Church Administrator, Vineyard Christian Fellowship, Glendale, AZ
